How am I overlooking that fact? I attribute the events of our lives to His guidance, whether I asked Him about it specifically or not. You seem to be saying that unless a person asks Him first, and gets a clear answer, no move should be made. My point of view is that He will open doors as He sees fit, and close others. When I see a door He has opened, I'll walk through it by faith, and my answer might be on the other side.
This kind of relates back to the fasting issue. You've stated that you only fast when God directs you, but I see value in fasting even without a specific directive, for the purpose of denying self.
I appreciate your perspective on this, but your experience with God is not the same as mine. (Square 1)
