I don't think how that was perceived.
Imagine a guy walking in a room (called a forum), opening up and sharing his doubts and perspective. Then the head of the house steps and says "just a reminder, we don't want to here a dissenting opinion on this topic." It just stifles the conversation, and certainly becomes a wet blanket.
I think it was poorly timed. Just about every poster here knows what AFF thinks about homosexuality. It seems uncalled for to even have a prepared statement on the matter.
My opinion. We all have them. Our egos needs a forum to share them
