So maybe you understand why they chose the route they did. I was a DCF caseworker and I can tell you contacting the authorities would have destroyed this family. They probably would have accused the parents of neglect and child endangerment, removed all the kids from custody. Since the kids were so many they would have had to have been separated and placed in different foster homes thus limiting their contact with each other. It would have taken years for the parents to ever get DCF off their back. It's so easy to judge others in cases like this, but until you are in their shoes you shouldn't judge. The boy was never violent and sought help. You think he should have been arrested? You think he owed some debt to society?
One thing is sure. This grown man Joshua Duggar cannot be blamed for how things were handled as he was a child and under his parents' authority.
