Would you be cynical if Rex Johnson said that God told him to leave the UPCI because it was too conservative? Would you accuse RJ of being off base?
I'm cynical of ANYONE who says that GOD told them to do anything! Why can't a preacher
OWN UP to his decision instead of putting it off on God? Is it because if it turns out to be the wrong decision, it's God's fault and not theirs?
Why can't a preacher say, "After much prayer and consideration,
I have decided...."?
I think I know.......because saying "God told me" gives it special spiritual weight!
