I do feel that God can influence good decision making. I don't feel that God audibly makes the decision for you.
"God told me" is a term used to give special spiritual emphasis to a decision or opinion. After all, to disagree means you're going against God's will!

If God were to speak in an audible voice, I'd be concerned at not hearing the still small voice first...
Who gives the release in their spirit? The person or God.
I think we're arguing semantics ... a person saying "God told me" or "God spoke to me" could also mean they felt a release in their spirit after prayer.
God still directed the course and action ... just not in an out loud, everyone could hear, audible way. He still "spoke" thru His spirit within the individual.
I'm guessing, but this could be what PM was speaking of.
In any case, no one has the right to judge. It's between that individual and God as to what their motives are.
