Just a small addendum to this: Isn't it interesting that the one who was wearing the "gold ring" was the one who "comes in," as opposed to the one's who were already in!

Thus, from the genre' of these passages from James [the earliest epistle] those w/in the church didn't have "gold rings," but, as today it's those outside of the Ecclessia who wear rings (ahem Jeffrey)!
