Naw....really, in my humble, tiny, little opinion, I just think it's a mistake when we do these flag-waving, Bible-thumping celebrations of our "Nation that was founded on Christian principles." For the most part, very few of our founding fathers were Christians. Deists? Yes, they were. Christians? No way.
Thomas Jefferson even assembled a Bible in which he removed most all of the things that we, as Christ-followers, hold dear.
Would we REALLY want a modern-day government that operated by the standards and morals of our founding fathers? I, for one, wouldn't want that.
When we attempt to change society through law, we should realize that the Old Testament has already proven that doesn't work. We cannot legislate righteousness.
I better stop...I'm probably as passionate about this as D. James Kennedy was from the other side!
